Made for the art of candy. Engineered for the reality of a 24-hour line.
Bonve sanitary rotary lobe pumps move liquid candy the way a confectioner moves it by hand: steadily, gently, and without bruising it. Cooked sugar mass, caramel and toffee, gummy and jelly, marshmallow and nougat, jam and fondant centres: each of these fluids punishes rough handling. Bonve delivers true positive-displacement transfer: aeration stays intact, inclusions stay whole, there is no pulse at the nozzle, and the piece weight stays consistent enough for your checkweigher to trust.
The Next Frontier in Confectionery: Where Sugar Stops Being Forgiving
In confectionery, the product is the process.
A caramel is a temperature curve. A marshmallow is a bubble. A gummy is a gel network. A hard candy is sugar held in a state it does not want to be in — one seed crystal away from graining.
None of that survives a pump that treats candy like water.
For decades, the industry has moved these masses with whatever pump was already on the shelf: centrifugal, gear, or progressive cavity pumps. Those pumps were designed for fluids that do not care. Candy does care. It cares about shear. It cares about heat. It cares about the corner it was left sitting in.
At Bonve, we build every pump on one principle: the pump should protect the recipe, not alter it.
As a leading Chinese manufacturer in positive-displacement fluid technology, Bonve has spent years solving exactly this class of problem. Our 4th-generation rotary lobe architecture is the current answer: a pump built to move thick, hot, shear-sensitive candy mass from the cooking vessel to the depositor without taking anything out of it on the way.
Why Moving Liquid Candy Is a Real Engineering Problem
Liquid candy is one of the least forgiving fluids in food manufacturing. It is hot. It is sticky. It is non-Newtonian, often aerated, sometimes full of fruit or nuts, and its viscosity starts changing the moment it begins to cool.
Conventional pumps create four bottlenecks. Every one of those bottlenecks shows up in your yield.
1. Burn-on, black specks, and the cost of dead zones
Cooked sugar keeps cooking wherever it stops moving.
Every stagnant corner — behind a seal, under a rotor, inside a pocket the CIP jet never reaches — holds a film of candy that darkens while the rest of the batch moves on. Then it releases. Now you have black specks in clear candy, an off-note in a delicate flavour, and a batch you cannot filter your way out of.
This is the most expensive defect in confectionery, because it stays invisible until it is already in the wrapper.
2. Shear damage: the texture you never get back
Marshmallow, nougat, chewy candy and aerated fondant are foams. The air cells are the product.
A gear pump or a high-speed impeller tears that structure apart. Density climbs. Portion weight climbs. The chew goes from tender to tight, and the surface loses its gloss.
You cannot repair this downstream. Texture is decided at the moment the mass is over-sheared.
3. Viscosity climbs like a wall, and the depositor starves
Candy mass cools as it travels. Viscosity does not rise gently; it rises in steps, up into the hundreds of thousands of centipoise.
A pump with weak suction starves. It cavitates. And it sends a pulsing, uneven stream to the depositor: weight scatter, tails, drips, giveaway, and rejects at the checkweigher.
4. Changeover: colour, flavour, and allergen carryover
One caramel batch tints the next mint batch. One nut inclusion puts allergen risk into a nut-free SKU (stock-keeping unit).
If the pump's internal shape leaves pockets where product can hide, no CIP cycle will reach it, and "we flushed it twice" is not a documented control.
Engineering Highlights: Innovation in Every Revolution
No Aeration Loss: Ultra-low shear rotor design protects microscopic air bubbles. Zero batter collapse. Full oven spring every time.
100% Inclusion Integrity: Large rotor cavities carry whole berries, chocolate chips, and nuts up to 30 mm without crushing or bleeding.
Low-pulse flow for accurate dosing: Smooth laminar flow eliminates nozzle dripping, splashing, and piece-weight variations.
Handles medium viscosity up to 1,500,000 cP: Massive -0.095 MPa vacuum effortlessly pulls cold, heavy mixes, heavy mixes from low-level vessels with up to 1.2 MPa discharge pressure.
Typical Bakery Applications
Hard candy and lollipop syrup — cooked sugar mass transferred hot, with clarity intact and no colour pickup.
Caramel, toffee and fudge — dense, sticky, heat-sensitive masses where burn-on is the enemy.
Gummy and jelly mass — gel networks moved with the minimum shear the process allows.
Marshmallow and nougat — aerated masses where density control is the entire specification.
Candy centres and fillings — jam, fondant, cream, chocolate and compound fillings fed to encrusting and co-extrusion heads.
Coating, polishing and glazing syrup — steady, low-pulse delivery for even film build.
Glucose and invert syrup transfer — kettle feeding, day tanks, and bulk unloading.
Rework and reclaimed candy mass — recovering value from trim and off-spec product instead of scrapping it.
Depositor buffer feeding — high-accuracy feed to multi-nozzle depositing and moulding lines.

Working Principle
Bonve lobe pumps basically consist of two lobe rotors, which rotate synchronously driven by a pair of synchronous gears in the gearbox. The rotors are driven by the main shaft and sub-shaft to rotate in a synchronous reverse direction, which changes the pump capacity, builds up high vacuum and discharge pressure, thus an efficient pumping is formed. Gap is kept between the rotors and between the pump casing, no friction, long life, no damage, no physical and chemical reaction to the pumped products.

Contact Us
A pump is only half of a transfer system. The other half is the person who sized it.
Tell us what your candy does at its worst: the coldest morning start-up, the thickest batch of the season, the changeover that always takes too long. We will design around that, not around a datasheet.
